THE PARENTS-TEACHERS ASSOCIATION (P.T.A.)

The Parents-Teachers Association (P.T.A.) is a non-profit formal organization which comprises parents, teachers and staff that is intended to facilitate parental participation in the school. The primary role of the PTA is to provide a forum through which parents can become more involved in the education of their children.

Babcock University Schools, Ogba, Lagos encourage a close interaction between parents and teachers. The PTA has a general working constitution. Elections are held once a year at the beginning of a session. All levies are paid into the PTA account opened for the purpose.

PTA meetings are held once a term. Such meetings serve as forums for parents, guardians and teachers to reach an understanding on issues of mutual benefit to the children and the schools. Apart from these meetings, Open Days are observed once a term to enable parents discuss their children’s progress with the school.

Currently, the association is being led by Mr Ibegbu Emmanuel Ikenna but under the leadership of Arc. Mykell Jegede – the pioneer Chairman, with the unalloyed support of the other members of the executive body, the PTA of the school has played a very active role and has helped institute countless changes in and around the school. The association has funded the equipment of the laboratories and library, installation of CCTV cameras to curb security challenges in the school, a smart class for e-learning, provision of toys for the nursery school, to mention a few, and has some other planned projects for execution.
